The text is by GRD McLean in the style of Carmina Gadelica, a compendium of prayers, hymns and other material gathered in the Gaelic-speaking regions of Scotland between 1860 and 1909.

The song is written for unison voices with guitar accompaniment (a simple finger-picked style works best). A keyboard part could be improvised from the guitar chords if wished.
